Where endoscopy centers are booming

Becker’s has reported on 12 new endoscopy centers or ASCs including endoscopy suites being planned, constructed or announced so far in 2025. 

Here’s a breakdown by state:

1. Utah: 3 

  • Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health recently opened a free-standing endoscopy center and ASC in Sandy, Utah, and has plans to open at least two more in the near future.

2. Mississippi: 3 

  • Baptist Health System opened a new surgery center in Madison, Miss., including two endoscopy rooms. 
  • An outpatient medical complex is moving forward in South Mississippi that will include an endoscopy suite. 
  • A medical office development is coming to Gautier, Miss. The Legacy Park project will house a cardiac surgery center, an endoscopy center, a vascular center and medical offices.

3. Arkansas: 2 

  • Management services organization GI Alliance partnered with real estate firm MedCore to open a new ASC in Bentonville, Ark. 
  • Pinnacle Gastroenterology opened a multi-physician gastroenterology practice in a building that housed the now-shuttered Arkansas Diagnostic Center of Little Rock

4. Missouri: 1 

  • Gateway Gastroenterology, based in Chesterfield, Mo., partnered with United Surgical Partners to open an outpatient endoscopy center.

5. Florida: 1 

  • AdventHealth Tampa (Fla.) opened a Center for Interventional Endoscopy, the only interventional endoscopy center in the Tampa Bay region. 

6. Illinois: 1 

  • Canton, Ill.-based Graham Health System earned approval from the state review board to build an ASC in Galesburg, Ill., that will include an endoscopy center. 

7. California: 1

  • Sacramento-based Sutter Health plans to construct a flagship campus in Emeryville, Calif., that will feature an ambulatory care complex that will feature an endoscopy suite.
