Van Wert Health expands GI presence through $45M project — 3 insights

Van Wert (Ohio) Health is spending $45 million to expand surgical services on its main campus, the Journal Gazette reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Van Wert Health is building four large surgery suites, three endoscopy rooms, 16 preoperative and postoperative spaces, a post-anesthesia care unit, a preadmission testing area and a critical care area.

2. Developers expect the two-year expansion to begin in September.

3. The expansion will help the hospital better meet the demands of the community.

Van Wert City Mayor Jerry Mazur said in a statement, “By making such a significant investment in our community, Van Wert Health is making it clear that they are committed to providing the very best care to the people in northwest Ohio.”
