URMC GI experts to host advanced endoscopy course for nurses, mid-level providers: 4 notes

University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center gastroenterology experts will host the 2nd annual Advanced Endoscopy Nurses Course on April 22 and 23.

Here are four notes:

1. Course participants will observe and discuss procedures performed at UR Medicine’s Center for Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy.

2. The course is designed to give gastroenterology nurses, technicians and mid-level providers the opportunity to learn about new technology and techniques in endoscopy.

3. The course will focus on general and advanced endoscopic therapies for benign and malignant disorders of the GI tract, liver, pancreas and biliary system.

4. The course is directed by URMC Gastroenterology Division Chief Vivek Kaul, MD, endoscopic experts Shivangi Kothari, MD, Truptesh Kothari, MD, and Asad Ullah, MD, and Kristine Jaeger, RN, GI assistant nurse manager.
