Texas Children’s Hospital names Dr. Benjamin Shneider GI service chief

Texas Children’s Hospital named Benjamin L. Shneider, MD, chief of its gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition service.

Dr. Shneider’s clinical interests include liver disease in children with a particular focus on cholestatic liver disorders and portal hypertension. His current basic research focus is on intestinal gene regulation, while his translational and clinical research centers on pediatric liver diseases.

Dr. Shneider completed his pediatric residency at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and he has completed a subspecialty fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Yale University in New Haven, Conn.
