GI Dynamics names Michael Dale president & CEO

GI Dynamics appointed Michael D. Dale president, CEO and member of the board of directors.

Mr. Dale has more than 25 years of executive experience in public and private medical device organizations. He most recently served as president and CEO of Helical Solutions, an early stage venture capital funded business focused on the development of a system for treatment of atrial fibrillation. He also previously served as chairman, president and CEO of ATS Medical until its acquisition in 2010 by Medtronic.

GI Dynamics is the developer of EndoBarrier, an endoscopically-delivered device therapy approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and/or obesity. It is approved and commercially available in multiple countries outside the United States.
