For the study, researchers reviewed cases from 332 patients who underwent LAG or OG for early and advanced gastric cancer from January 2001-December 2010. They found the rate of postoperative morbidity was 17.2 percent for LAG patients and 25 percent for OG patients. Researchers concluded LAG is as safe and equivalent to OG.
