For their study, researchers assessed remission rates and complication rates for 41 patients who underwent EMR for BE removal from Jan. 2006-Dec. 2010. Remission of high-grade dysplasia and cancer; all dysplasia; and all BE was 94.6 percent, 85.4 percent and 78 percent, respectively. However, patients also experienced minor bleeding (31.7 percent), perforations (4.9 percent) and strictures (43.9 percent).
