Himanshu Verma, MD, joined the Southcoast Physicians Group’s gastroenterology department in Fairhaven, Mass., according to Sippican Week.

Here are four quick facts:

1. Dr. Verma’s clinical interests include pancreaticobiliary disease, endoscopic management of GI cancers and general gastroenterology.

2. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and went on to complete his internal medicine residency at Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital.

3. After completing his residency, Dr. Verma finished a gastroenterology fellowship at Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Clinic.

4. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
