EndoChoice closed $57 million in preferred equity financing. Deerfield led the financing round, with input from several other new and existing investors.

The American Medical Association announced the new Category I CPT code 432XX1, which will cover esophagogastric fundoplasty trans-orifice approach procedures. The code will be used to cover the Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication procedure from EndoGastric Solutions and procedures performed with the MUSE platform from Medigus.

Endo International made a takeover offer to Salix Pharmaceuticals, which already has an agreement to be bought by Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.

Exact Sciences and Ironwood Pharmaceuticals entered into an agreement to co-promote Exact Sciences’ Cologuard.

Physicians Endoscopy acquired a majority interest in the Philadelphia Gastroenterology Consultants Endoscopy Center of Excellence.

William P. Forbes, executive vice president with Salix Pharmaceuticals, sold 20,000 shares of company stock for a total transaction value of $3.16 million, according to a report by The Legacy.

The FDA approved the REZA BAND from Somna Therapeutics. The REZA BAND applies slight pressure to the neck to reduce laryngopharyngeal reflux symptoms.
