FDA approves acid reflux device from Somna Therapeutics

The FDA has approved the REZA BAND from Somna Therapeutics, according to a BizTimes report.

The REZA BAND applies slight pressure to the neck to reduce laryngopharyngeal reflux symptoms. In clinical trials, 86 percent of patients were found to have significant symptom reduction after two weeks, according to the report.

Reza Shaker, MD, chief of gastroenterology and hepatology at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, is one of the founders of Somna Therapeutics.
