Provation Medical acquired MD-Reports, an EMR, practice management and report-writing software provider.

What you should know:

1. Provation has been active in the gastroenterology space for 25 years. Its documentation software is used in 42 of the top 50 GI hospitals and at more than 2,600 facilities across the U.S.

2. MD-Reports complements Provation’s existing offerings. Its software is in use at more than 530 physician offices, hospitals and ASCs across the U.S.

3. The acquisition will add practice management capabilities to Provation’s portfolio.

4. Provation is backed by Clearlake Capital Group, a private equity investment firm.
