Gastroenterologist burnout has declined 2% in the last year, according to Medscape's 2024 "Physician Burnout and Depression Report,"published Jan. 24.

Frank Gress, MD, chief of gastroenterology and director of interventional endoscopy at Oceanside, N.Y.-based Mount Sinai South Nassau, was recently dubbed a Master of the American College of Gastroenterology. 

Medical data intelligence platform Lynx.MD has debuted a gastroenterology data repository that encompasses data representing more than 12 million patients, 60 million patient encounters, 100 medication records, 90 million clinical notes and 1 million colonoscopy images and notes.

Nebraska Sen. Carol Blood proposed a bill stating that patients with insurance would not be subject to additional costs for medical services associated with a colonoscopy, such as a polyp removal, 6 News reported Jan. 17.

New York City-based NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, chief of gastroenterology Joan Culpepper-Morgan, MD, and CEO Georges Leconte have earned a Scopy award from the American College of Gastroenterology.
