Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health recently added Scott Itzkowitz, DO, and Dorothy Truax to its Novant Health Gastroenterology practice in Supply, N.C., the Greater Wilmington Business Journal reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Dr. Itzkowitz joined the practice after a career in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps.. He achieved the rank of captain.

2. He earned his osteopathic medicine degree from Lewisburg-based West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at San Diego-based Naval Medical Center and his fellowship at UC Los Angeles.

3. Ms. Truax earned her degree from the physician associate program at New Haven, Conn.-based Yale University School of Medicine.
