Here’s what you should know:

1. The medical center wants to create a two-story ambulatory diagnostic and treatment facility in New York City, with a parking garage on the lower story.

2. The health system has built two similar facilities in the past.

3. New York City’s Board of Standards and Appeals would need to grant an exception for a potential parking garage on the property. Preliminary plans have allocated less than the required amount of parking spots for a building of its size.

4. The systems’ other facilities provide services including gastroenterology, internal medicine, oncology, obstetrics, pulmonary care and family medicine. It’s expected this center would feature similar specialties.
