1. The device works to detect adenomas and polyps, with Norgine noting its device has higher levels of detection than a standard colonoscopy.
2. NICE is assessing the device through its Medical Technologies Evaluation Programme. Through the evaluation, NICE will give guidance on using the device in patients undergoing bowel cancer screening and surveillance during a colonoscopy.
3. The device attaches to the end of the colonscope that holds back colinic folds during the colonscope withdrawal, thereby opening the field of vision for providers.
4. The company expects to receive the final guidance in October 2017.
