Modernizing Medicine closes Series E financing

Modernizing Medicine, the developer of Electronic Medical Assistant, has closed a $38 million Series E financing round.

The company now has $87 million in capital.

EMA is a cloud-based, specialty-specific EMR. The company also recently acquired gMed, a company that provides a gastroenterology-specific EMR and related services.

Investors in this latest round of funding include Pentland Group and funds affiliated with Summit Partners and Sands Capital Ventures.
