What you should know:
1. Dr. Tipnis was charged with one count of sexual battery Jan. 17. He allegedly was conversing with a 14-year-old girl online and committed sexual battery when the two met in Madison, Miss.
2. Dr. Tipnis was fired from Madison-based Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine when he was arrested. He had joined the practice in September 2019.
3. Dr. Tipnis was also affiliated with the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which has since removed any information mentioning his time at UAB.
