Medical College of Georgia has a new gastroenterology chief — 4 insights into Dr. Kenneth Vega

Augusta-based Medical College of Georgia named Kenneth Vega, MD, its new chief of gastroenterology, the Augusta Chronicle reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Dr. Vega previously was chief of gastroenterology at Denver-based National Jewish Health, before he joined MCG April 15.

2. He specializes in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease.

3. Dr. Vega earned his medical degree from New York City-based Weill Cornell Medicine. He completed a residency at Boston City Hospital and his fellowship at Philadelphia-based Temple University.

4. He is a past president of the Arkansas Oklahoma Endoscopy Society.
