Four things to know:
1. Dr. Bernstein, a native of Sarasota, is also a member of Florida Digestive Health Specialists’ physician recruitment committee.
2. He completed a gastroenterology and interventional endoscopy fellowship at Philadelphia-based Temple University Hospital in 2014, and practiced with Philadelphia Gastroenterology Consultants until returning to Sarasota in 2019.
3. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bernstein performs gastrointestinal procedures at a community medical clinic at no cost to the patient, according to the report.
4. Florida Digestive Health Specialists is the largest gastroenterology group in the state without private equity involvement. The group has 51 physicians, according to its website.
