Lancaster Gastroenterology and RGAL Gastroenterology Specialists merged practices, becoming Regional GI, Lancaster Online reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The Lancaster, Pa.-based practices completed their merger after 18 months of discussion.

2. Andre Renna, executive director of Regional GI, said the practices decided to merge to better serve the community.

3. Regional GI will provide services at the four Lancaster County hospitals.

4. No physicians are leaving the practice and individual offices will remain open.

5. Dale Whitebloom, MD, and Paul Allegretti, MD, are Regional GI’s new president and vice president, respectively.
