Researchers compared images of the United States Air Force resolution target compared with a flexible cystoscope coupled to the Endockscope + iPhone high definition camera and also did a cost comparison between systems.
They found the image resolution to be identical between the traditional HD camera and the iPhone with the attachable Endockscope device. The iPhone system also presented ample cost benefit.
