GI physician leader to know: Dr. Thomas McGarrity of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center

Thomas J. McGarrity, MD, is chief of gastroenterology and hepatology at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Dr. McGarrity’s clinical interests include therapeutic endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound and colon cancer. In 2014, Dr. McGarrity traveled to Accra, Ghana, to participate in an endoscopy training program at Korle Bu Hospital. He was joined by Mayo Clinic and Norway physicians.

Dr. McGarrity earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville and completed both his residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
