Dr. Cello’s research centers on new treatments for gastrointestinal disorders, including bleeding and morbid obesity. His work has been published in peer-reviewed publications, such as Clinical and Translational Gastroenterology and Gastroenterology. He has received a number of awards during his career, including the Distinguished Educator Award from the American Gastroenterology Association and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Cello earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School and completed his residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, both in Boston. He completed fellowship training in hepatology, biochemistry and gastroenterology at Washington DC VA Medical Center and UCSF Medical Center.
