GI physician leader to know: Dr. Andrew Albert of Chicago Gastro

Andrew Albert, MD, MPH, runs a solo practice, Chicago Gastro, and practices with Advocate Health Care in Chicago. He is also a clinical assistant professor of medicine in the digestive diseases and nutrition department at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Albert’s clinical interests include celiac disease, chronic abdominal pain, colon cancer, constipation, gastro esophogeal reflux disease, hemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disorders and pancreatitis. He has published numerous articles and lectured extensively.

Dr. Albert completed his degree in medicine and an additional degree in public health at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency at Boston University Medical Center and completed his GI fellowship at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago. He also underwent advanced training in inflammatory bowel disease at The University of Chicago.
