Dr. Muir was recently awarded the 2015 June & Donald O. Castell, MD, Esophageal Clinical Research Award from the American Gastroenterological Association Research Foundation. She will use the award to support her research on esophageal fibrosis in eosinophilic esophagitis. Specifically, she plans to use the funding to help support the investigation of Endoluminal Functional Lumen Imaging Probe technology, or EndoFLIP, to detect patients at risk for fibrosis in its early stages of development.
Dr. Muir earned her medical degree at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she has also completed a gastroenterology fellowship and a GI research fellowship.
