GI leader to know: Dr. Russell Cohen of The University of Chicago Medicine

Russell Cohen, MD, is the director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center and a gastroenterologist with The University of Chicago Medicine.

Dr. Cohen has extensive experience treating inflammatory bowel disease, and he now leads a team of specialists to treat patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

His career began after he earned his medical degree from New York’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency at Harvard Medical School in Boston, before his fellowship in gastroenterology and nutrition at the University of Chicago.

He is a member of several professional societies including the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Cohen has been named one of the best doctors in America for the last decade and is consistently named a top doctor by Castle Connolly Medical.
