GI leader to know: Dr. John Boniface Jr. of Fall Hill Gastroenterology Associates

John Boniface Jr., MD, is a gastroenterologist and the founder of Falls Hill Gastroenterology Associates in Fredericksburg, Va.

Dr. Boniface specializes in colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy and small intestine video capsule endoscopy.

He began his career after earning his medical degree from the Gainesville-based University of Florida. He completed his residency at Durham, N.C.-based Duke University. He then served as a general medical officer in the U.S. Navy before completing his fellowship at the Richmond-based Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Boniface practiced for 13 years in Galax, Va. before opening Fall Hill Gastroenterology Associates.

He is a Southwest Virginia Medical Society past president and a past Fredericksburg Area Medical Society president.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Boniface lives in King George, Va. with his wife, cat and two dogs.
