GI leader to know: Dr. Dino Ferrante of the Center for Colon & Digestive Disease

Dino Ferrante, MD, is a gastroenterologist at the Huntsville, Ala.-based Center for Colon & Digestive Disease.

Dr. Ferrante began his career after earning his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed an internship, residency and fellowship at Birmingham-based University of Alabama Hospital.

He is an American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and American Gastroenterological Association member.

Before medical school, Dr. Ferrante was a Division I hockey player for the University of Alabama Huntsville. He was a captain for two years, and the student body elected him as its student-athlete of the year.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Ferrante has a wife and two children.
