After earning his medical degree from Zapopan, Mexico-based Autonomous University of Guadalajara, he completed a residency at University of Texas Medical School in Houston and a fellowship at Houston-based Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Alcocer completed an advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at Milwaukee Gastroenterology Consultants.
He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American Gastroenterological Association, among others.
Dr. Alcocer has practiced in the Austin area since 1998.
