He earned his medical degree from Worcester-based University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed a residency at New York City-based Weill Cornell Medical Center and a fellowship at New York City-based Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Leavitt joined San Jose Gastroenterology in July 2007. He has a clinical interest in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/colonoscopies, inflammatory bowel disease and viral hepatitis.
He is an American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterological Association fellow.
