GI leader to know: Dr. Allan Wolkoff, hepatology chief at Einstein College of Medicine

Allan W. Wolkoff, MD, is the chief of the division of hepatology at the Albert EInstein College of Medicine in New York City.

He also is director of the Marion Bessin Liver Research Center and the Herman Lopata chair in liver disease research. Dr. Wolkoff is associate chair of research at the medical school’s department of medicine and a professor of hepatology who teaches in the anatomy and structural biology department.

For two years, Dr. Wolkoff was a clinical associate in gastroenterology-hepatology in the digestive disease branch of the National Institute of Arthritis, Metabolism and Digestive Disease.
