GI leader to know: Dr. Alexandria Phan of Cancer Treatment Centers of America

Alexandria Phan, MD, is the medical director of the gastrointestinal center at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Newnan, Ga., a part of Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

Dr. Phan began her career after earning her medical degree from UC Irvine. She completed a residency and a hematology fellowship at Houston-based Baylor College of Medicine and a medical oncology fellowship at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Before she joined the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Dr. Phan developed a specialty oncology practice at Houston Methodist Cancer Center. She also served as the center’s fellowship program director.

Dr. Phan is a member of several professional organizations including the American Cancer Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and American Association of Clinical Research.

She focuses on personalized treatment plans for patients with neuroendocrine and endocrine cancers as well as gastrointestinal system malignancies.
