GI Dynamics names Drs. Carel Le Roux, Jan Willem Greve 1st members of scientific advisory board: 3 key notes

Boston-based GI Dynamics created a scientific advisory board and named Carel Le Roux, MD, PhD, and Jan Willem Greve, MD, PhD, its first two members.

Dr. Le Roux is Ireland-based University College Dublin’s head of pathology. Dr. Greve is the medical director of the Dutch Obesity Clinic in the Netherlands.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The advisory group is assisting GI Dynamics in its attempt to earn FDA approval for its EndoBarrier device.

2. The EndoBarrier is an endoscopically delivered device approved for type 2 diabetes and obesity treatment.

3. The EndoBarrier is currently only available for investigational use in the United States.
