The investment is intended to help advance independent practice of GI medicine and deliver cost-effective care to patients. The ASCs included in the partnership are the Dallas Endoscopy Center; Arlington, Texas-based Cross Timbers Surgery Center; Denton (Texas) Surgery Center; Digestive Health Center of Thibodaux (La.); and Elgin (Ill.) Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center.
Collectively, the ASCs serve 40,000 patients in both rural and metropolitan areas.
“Across the country, GI physicians sometimes find themselves at odds with their ASC partners, a dynamic that ultimately hurts the patient,” said Jim Weber, MD, CEO of GI Alliance. “Strategic partnerships like GI Alliance’s ASC investments allow us to align care, put patients first, and support our doctors simultaneously.”
