Gastroenterologist to know: Dr. Kulwinder Dua of the Medical College of Wisconsin

Kulwinder S. Dua, MD, is a gastroenterologist and section chief of the division of gastroenterology and hepatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Dr. Dua’s primary interest is in advanced interventional endoscopy. He is an inventor and has several patents and FDA-cleared devices.

Dr. Dua has over 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is on the editorial board of several journals. He previously served as the president of the International Dysphagia Research Society and the Milwaukee GI Society.

Dr. Dua led a team of physicians in successfully regenerating a patient’s badly damaged esophagus using off-the-shelf components approved by the FDA and autologous platelet-rich plasma adhesive gel.

Dr. Dua earned his medical degree and completed his residency at Nagpur University in Bombay, India, and completed his fellowship at the Royal College of Physicians in London, U.K.
