Gastroenterologist Dr. Joseph Stitcher Dead at 82

Gastroenterologist Joseph Edward Stitcher, M.D., has died, according to a Lincoln Journal Star obituary.

Dr. Stitcher died Sept. 10. He was 82.

 

Dr. Stitcher graduated from the University of Maryland Medical School in 1955, and served 10 years in the Navy Medical Corps. He then moved to Philadelphia where he practiced internal medicine, with a sub-specialty in gastroenterology.

 

Dr. Stitcher moved to Lincoln in 1966, where he practiced at Lincoln Clinic. He then served as one of the founding gastroenterology members of Internal Medicine Specialties, which evolved into Lincoln’s Gastroenterology Specialties. He retired from his medical practice in 1992.
