Gastroenterologist Dr. Cory Vergilio Elected Vice President of NJ’s Somerset Medical Center Medical Staff

Gastroenterologist Cory Vergilio, MD, has been elected vice president of the medical staff of Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, N.J., according to a news release.

 Somerset Medical Center has a 700-member medical/dental staff. Dr. Vergilio’s two-year term as vice president began Jan. 1.

Dr. Vergilio, who practices out of Watchung, a borough in Somerset County, N.J., is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He has served as clinical professor of internal medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry-New Jersey Medical School, which is where he received his MD. Dr. Vergilio completed internal medicine training at University Hospital, Newark, N.J. He also had advanced training in gastroenterology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, the Sammy Davis Jr. International Liver Center and Aarhus Universitat in Aarhus, Denmark.

He now practices at Digestive Healthcare Center in New Jersey.
