The Gastric Cancer Foundation recently formed a research partnership with the American Gastroenterological Association.
Next year, the organizations will give a joint award to young GI tract cancer investigators through the "AGA-GCF Research Scholar Award in Gastric and Esophageal Cancer." The partnership will allow for a grant endowment of $2.25 million.
The GCF also confirmed the timeline for awarding newly-funded research grants for upper gastrointestinal tract cancers. Applications are due by Dec. 13, 2013, and funding will begin July 2014.
