The study compared the creatinine clearance test, the gold standard for measuring preoperative renal function, with eGFR, and found no significant differences among the tests in patients with gastric cancer.

They concluded eGFR may be used in place of Ccr due to clear medical and socioeconomic advantages, according to the release.
