Drs. Richard Peek and Douglas Corley to helm Gastroenterology: 3 things to know

Richard M. Peek Jr., MD, and Douglas A. Corley, MD, will serve as the next editor-in-chief and deputy editor of the research publication Gastroenterology.

Here’s what you need to know.

1. Dr. Peek is a professor of medicine and cancer biology; a professor of immunology and the director of the division of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

He is internationally known for his research on helicobacter pylori.

2. Dr. Corley is a clinical professor of medicine at UC San Francisco. He will serve as the journal’s first ever deputy editor-in-chief.

3. Gastroenterology is the flagship publication of the AGA, and is in the top 1 percent of biomedical journals.
