Joe Webster, MD, of Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial HealthCare, is suing the health system for alleged racial discrimination.

Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Medical Center researcher Mark Pimentel, MD, partnered with Salix Pharmaceuticals to continue researching gut microbiome-based treatments.

Petoskey-based McLaren Northern Michigan Digestive Health boosted its ranks by adding Luke M.H. McCrone, MD.

St. Lawrence Health System’s Canton-Potsdam (N.Y.) Hospital added James Vecchio, MD, to its gastroenterology staff.

Cary Cavender, MD, a gastroenterologist practicing at Memphis, Tenn.-based Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital said spicy snack chips can cause severe stomach pain and vomiting, which brings about 100 children a month to his specialty practice.

Gastroenterologist and hepatologist Chinyere M. Nwosu, DO, joined Canton-Postdam (N.Y.) Hospital.
