Dr. Hui Dong of UCSD Gastroenterology Department Co-Authors Paper on Diabetes Treatment

Hui Dong, MD, of the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine gastroenterology department, has co-authored a paper on the identification of a new treatment of type 2 diabetes, according to a UC San Diego Health System news release.

Dr. Don worked with several other UCSD researchers to identify a protein, fractalkine, which has the ability to stimulate insulin secretion and in effect serve as a treatment for type 2 diabetes.
