Dr. David Bernstein named PAION medical advisor

David Bernstein, MD, chief of hepatology for North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y., and Long Island Jewish Hospital in New Hyde Park, N.Y., has been named the medical advisor of pharmaceutical company PAION.

In this new role, Dr. Bernstein will support the company’s efforts to bring Remimazolam to the U.S. market. Remimazolam is an ultra-short-acting anesthetic.

Dr. Bernstein also serves as the director of the Center for Liver Diseases at North Shore LIJ Health System and professor of medicine at Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine.
