What you should know:

1. The DiLumen device is an endoscopic dual balloon colon stabilization accessory. It features two working channels through which surgeons can use instruments to retract and dissect tissue.

2. Emre Gorgun, MD, director of Cleveland Clinic’s Endolumenal Surgery Center Cleveland, performed the procedure Oct. 1. She performed similar procedures on Aug. 29 and Sept. 24.

3. All three patients went home the day of their procedure, which wouldn’t have been possible if they had received surgery.
