Colorectal surgery da Vinci Surgical System training program participation increases 877%

Intuitive Surgical hosted 88 colorectal surgery residents at its fourth annual Colorectal Fellowship Training Program, according to an EndoNurse report.

When the training program first began, only nine residents participated. This year, residents trained at one of four centers. This was also the first year that program was conducted in partnership with the Association of Program Directors for Colon and Rectal Surgery. The APDCRS now works with the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons to offer the program as a part of all colorectal surgery residencies, according to the report.

The program included lectures given by experienced da Vinci surgeons and surgeon-led training. At the conclusion of the program, the residents received a certificate for completing basic da Vinci Surgical System training.
