Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Develops Molecular Test for Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center researchers have developed a molecular test for the diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis, according to a Science Codex report.

The test is based on a 96 gene expression profile. Marc Rothenberg, MD, PhD, director of allergy and immunology at Cincinnati Children’s, is the senior author of the study.

The medical center has entered into an option agreement with molecular diagnostic company Diagnovus.
