Dr. Gugig’s appointment is part of a three-year grant with First 5 Tulare County, which will bring in three specialty physicians to the area, according to the report. The clinic will also bring in a pediatric endocrinologist and a developmental disorder physician.
Dr. Gugig specializes in pediatric gastrointestinal and liver disease and nutrition. He was born in Venezuela and received his medical degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas and completed his postgraduate training at the Social Security Hospital Complex in Caracas and at the Integrated Health System Rural Hospital in Anzoategui, Venezuela, according to the report.
Dr. Gugig has also received training at the University of California in Los Angeles and San Francisco and Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and at the University of Miami (Fla.) Medical School.
