AGA, ACG, ASGE Partner to Protest Payment Cuts to GI/Endoscopy Procedures

The American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy have announced a joint commitment to combat the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid 2014 Medicare reimbursement cuts to upper GI/endoscopy services.

The AGA, ACG and ASGE have created a payment analysis of common GI codes under the Medicare physician fee schedule to demonstrate the affects of the payment cuts.

The three societies intend to work with policymakers to address their concerns and move towards mitigation of the payment cuts.
