The American College of Gastroenterology recognized Peoria-based Central Illinois Endoscopy as one of its 2017 SCOPY award winners, the Peoria Journal Star reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The center received an award for the “Best Use of Patient Profiles to Increase Colorectal Cancer Awareness.”

2. The center featured the late Paul Hahn, owner of Mackinaw Valley Vineyard, in a series of advertisements. Mr. Hahn lost his battle with colorectal cancer in November 2016.

3. The center is the largest freestanding endoscopy center in Southern Illinois.
