The American Gastroenterological Association Academy of Educators selected four recipients of a $1,000 competitive educational grant award.

The winners include:
•    Akwi W. Asombang, MD, MPH, FAAP, FACP,  University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics (Columbia) for Improving Medical Record Documentation of Clinical Encounters and Health Maintenance History in IBD Patients
•    Candi Jump, DO, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for Development of Gastroenterology Fellows as Educators
•    Sumona Saha, MD, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine (Madison) for Improving Direct Observation and Clinical Skills Assessment During Gastroenterology Fellowship
•    Matthew Whitson, MD, University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia) for An Interactive Curriculum for Esophageal Disorders

Nitesh Ratnakar, MD, FACG, was elected as West Virginia Governor for the American College of Gastroenterology.

David T. Rubin, MD, was appointed the University of Chicago Joseph B. Kirsner Professor in Medicine.
